SADHNA Academy, an abode of music & dance, was founded in 2011, by Smt. Rima Mishra, trained in Hindustani Classical music & Odissi dance styles, with a vision of giving it back to the society by nurturing the talent in the field of music & dance.

Where Music Meets Minds

Rima Mishra grew up in a small town, Bargarh in Odisha, which is known for its cement plant. Her family was a music loving one. Her parents & sisters were all fond of music & dance. She was a music n dance freak from her childhood. She started singing n dancing at a very tender age. At the age of four she started Learning Odissi from Guru Debu Bose a renowned Ollywood personality n Trailokya Maharana Sir and as she grew up it became her biggest hobby & thereafter became her passion. Throughout her school & college career, she won several medals & accolades for her singing n dancing. After marriage, she moved to another Cement town, Rajgangpur in Odisha. Her musical journey continued in spite of the family responsibilities. In fact, she took up singing in a more serious note by taking formal musical training in Hindustani Classical music. She moved to Kolkata in 2009. Her thirst for further learning continued. She was lucky to get patronage of legendary Hindustani Classical singer, Dr. Sunanda Patnaik. She also founded SADHNA…… a music n and dance school to pass on her skill to the next generation. Recently, she recorded some old Bollywood classics in her voice which is a tribute to the great singers of the past, “Saradhabali" collection of soulful Jagannath bhajans n many more Bollywood songs.
